Standings, Weekend Recap and What's on Tap Today

This past weekend, Johan Santana threw the franchise's first no-hitter in a win on Friday against the Cardinals, after which the Mets also won Saturday and Sunday night to move in to a three-way tie for first base in the NL East.



In case you missed it, Terry Collins said Johan Santana will make his scheduled start on Thursday, despite throwing 134 pitches during Friday's no-hitter.

By the way, Santana will deliver the Top Ten List on The Late Show with David Letterman tonight, which airs at 11:30 pm on CBS.

Collins also told reporters that Chris Young will make his 2012 debut for the Mets on Tuesday against the Nationals, starting in the series opener.

In regards to injuries, Mike Baxter was put on the 15-day disabled list with a displaced collar bone and fractured rib cartilage. He was replaced on the roster with infielder Josh Satin.

Also, it was announced that Jason Bay will play in the field for Single-A St. Lucie today, while Ruben Tejada could end up being available on Friday against the Yankees after spending the week in rehab games with Triple-A Buffalo.

Lastly, the Mets announced that comedian and talk-show host Bill Maher is a new limited partner with the organization.


This afternoon at 1 pm ET, the Mets look to sweep this four-game series with the Cardinals, as RHP Dillon Gee  (4-3, 4.69 ERA) faces RHP Kyle Lohse (5-1, 3.36 ERA).

Also tonight, the first round of the MLB draft starts at 7 pm, and will air live on MLB Network. The Mets have the 12th pick in the draft.
