After Ike Davis struck out for the first out, Lucas Duda drove in Daniel Murphy to draw the Mets closer at 3-2 with an RBI single:
Mike Baxter proceeded to pop out to Jose Reyes in foul territory, but with two outs, Andres Torres walked, and Kelly Shoppach appeared as a pinch hitter and drove in two runs on a hard single up the middle:
Marlins centerfielder Justin Ruggiano committed an error which allowed Torres to score and for Shoppach to go all the way to third base:
The Mets scored three runs on the play to go up 5-3.
Shoppach is hitting .346 with two home runs and seven RBI in 26 at-bats since joining the Mets in August.
