Chris Young completes first rehab start

Tonight in Viera, Florida, Chris Young allowed no runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings for Single-A St. Lucie.

Young, 32, made four starts for the Mets in 2011. He went 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in 24 innings before undergoing season ending surgery to repair a torn capsule in his right shoulder. He signed a minor league deal with the Mets in March.

In addition, Ronny Cedeno played shortstop in tonight's game for St. Lucie and went 0-for-4. Earlier this week, Terry Collins said he expects Cedeno to rejoin the Mets in Miami this weekend.

Cedeno has been on the disabled list since April 21 with a strained intercostal muscle.

Transcript: Terry's comments after sweep of Phillies

Terry Collins talked to reporters after tonight's 10-6 win over the Phillies, and had the following to say about:

His team's first sweep in Philadelphia since 2006:

'We came in and got them at the right time. ' If something happened, if there was a mistake, we capitalized on it. It was a great trip for us, and we'll enjoy it for awhile and get ready for this weekend'Everybody goes through bad streaks and this is one of theirs. You don't win as many championships as they've won in a row without being a very good team.'

Manny Acosta, and the bullpen with a 1.64 ERA this series:

'They made great pitches. They came in and changed speeds, they threw strikes, and kept the hitters off balance a little bit. They did a great job'It's big for Acosta. It's big to get his confidence going again. This guy had a real bad road trip, but this guy pitched very well for this club in the last two years. We know he's better than he's pitching and now he's starting to get it going.'

Andres Torres, who went two for four with a solo home run:

'We had meetings in spring training with all of our guys that are brand new to our organization, and we talked about the philosophy that we have here: be willing to take a base on balls, be willing to work the count, being disciplined and patient enough to get a ball you can handle. Some guys buy into it and some guys don't. He's bought into it. I told him if you work at this, the results are going to be good for you'I've been so impressed with the way he's done it.'

Ike Davis, who hit a three-run home run:

'That tells me he's starting to get centered. That's what kind of hitter he is'When he's swinging good, the signals are there, but when you make mistakes that's when he does his biggest damage.'

The Mets (18-13) completed a three-game sweep of the Phillies (14-18) tonight, winning 10-6 at Citizen's Bank Park.

Matthew Cerrone: I'm rather blown away by this team's ability to fight back in these games, night after night. I'm a fairly positive fan. I want to believe. It's not difficult for me to buy in to a storyline, because I want to have fun and enjoy the game. But, even I have struggled of late to believe these guys can keep doing this again and again' and yet they do. They were living in fear of falling below .500 last Saturday, and now they're five up and growing in confidence. I love it and Terry Collins needs to get a ton of credit. Let's not go bananas here and anoint him Manager of the Year, because there is A LOT of baseball yet to be played, and the current state of the Phillies bullpen can make any team look miraculous. However, Terry is connecting with these guys and that shouldn't be ignored. It's been great to watch and I desperately hope it continues'

The fact that this all went down against the Phillies (and Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee) just makes it all the better. The Mets smacked them around, and I hope the Phillies are a bit embarrassed and concerned about the direction of their season.

In regards to individual players, Ike looked strong at the plate tonight. He had a nice swing on a double earlier in the game. Later, he teed off on a pitch down in the zone, which he had been missing earlier in the year, but tonight he crushed it for a home run.

Hat's off to Manny Acosta, as well, who has struggled at times this season, but tonight he did a terrific job getting a double play in a scoreless seventh inning, after the Mets had scored three runs in the top of the inning to take the lead and continue momentum.

After tonight's 7-4 win over the Phillies, Terry Collins talked to reporters and said the following about:

What has impressed him the most in this series:

'It's not just the quality of the at bat, but the fact that they're so patient. We got down early, they just stayed with it and didn't try to do too much. ' Miguel settled down and got us some innings which we needed bad.'

Miguel Batista, who threw 5.1 innings and allowed 4 runs:

'I think as the game went on he got into a better rhythm. ' I think he started to use all his pitches after the second inning. He started to use his change up a little bit and his slider a little bit more effectively. He made better pitches for sure. Those first two innings, I saw the replays on the scoreboard and those breaking balls were right in the middle of the plate.'

The errors and other frustrations with the game:

'That's what young players can do to you. They're playing with all their heart. They're playing as hard as they can. They're going to make some mistakes. It just comes with the territory. They're learning still how to play, especially up here. Not to take chances, to refine their game a little bit. It takes time to learn that stuff.'

David Wright, who was caught in a rundown, which scored a run:

'We were in a great spot. We had speed on both sides, which really put them in a tough spot when you're running in that defensive station. Even though when they decided to go to third, Nieuwenhuis was going to be safe. Fortunately, the ball bounced away, but it was a great job by David to get in the rundown to make the play happen.'

Andres Torres, who went 2 for 5:

'Hopefully he stays healthy, because he's showing us exactly what we got him for. He swung the bat well from both sides. That catch he made on Wiggington, he went a long way to get that ball. He can really play centerfield, great speed. The one thing that I've been impressed with is his at bats.'
