Transcript: Terry on the Mets win over the Phillies

Terry Collins talked to reporters after tonight's win over the Phillies and had the following to say about:

Josh Thole, who left the game in the 8th inning after a collision at home plate:

'The doctor's are examining him right now. ' We saw that he got hit in the head. We knew the chances of him staying in weren't going to be very good.'

The attitude of his team:

'Well, they are fired up. These guys realize nobody expects anything from us. To come back against Roy, tie the game up, and then to finish the game with two guys that weren't in the game at the beginning, with huge hits, it was a great win for us. ' When you face some of the guys that are the best in the game like Roy, like Cliff, you just can't roll over. You've got to battle them, you've got to scratch, and you've got to put the ball in play. ' I salute this club. This club doesn't quit. They play hard from start to finish.'

Jordany Valdespin, who hit a go-ahead pinch-hit 3 run homerun in the 9th:

'He's an extremely talented young player. So, we're going to run him out there tomorrow. He hasn't played shortstop, but he's just so athletic that I know he'll handle himself great. If he plays the way he's been playing since he's been here and the way he's handled himself, he's got a chance to be here awhile.'
