Daniel Murphy received a cortisone injection at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York on Tuesday, and is listed as day-to-day, the team announced.
Murphy was sent to New York this morning after he pulled his intercostal muscle during workouts this week.
Sandy Alderson said on Monday he expects Murphy to miss a week.
