As Diamond says in his report, the Mets don't need to steal more bases to be a better on the base paths. They don't have much speed, so that's going to be a difficult challenge to overcome anyway. Rather, the Mets need to evolve from being a station-to-station team, steal at strategic times as a unit, and get on base more consistently to be better.
