Mets beat writer Adam Rubin from ESPN New York answered fan questions about the team on Twitter this afternoon, and basically said the following in regards to:
Ronny Cedeno: He's a free agent and will seek the most money and best opportunity to be a starting player.
Mike Pelfrey: He'll be non-tendered because his 2013 salary will be based on him making $5.75 million last year. Instead of signing with the Mets to be a reliever, Pelfrey's agent, Scott Boras, is more likely get Pelfrey a one-year contract at around $2 million with significant incentives to be a starting pitcher.
Kelly Shoppach: Though the Mets will look around the market, he could end up back as their starting catcher in 2013. The team wasn't enamored with him, 'but the price could be right.'
Kirk Nieuwenhuis: Terry Collins is prepared to make him the starting center fielder next season.
Jon Rauch: He is a free agent and it's very unlikely he re-signs with the Mets.
Scott Hairston: Expected to sign elsewhere as a free agent, since he'll likely seek more than the Mets want to spend on him.
Jenrry Mejia and Jeurys Famila: Though it's a guess, one might be in Triple-A, while the other is in the big-league bullpen.
