The Mets weren't enthused about Brennan Boesch, who was released by the Tigers last week, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports tweeted yesterday.
According to Heyman, the Mets expressed interest in Boesch, but ended up viewing him as just another Lucas Duda, Colin Cowgill, Jordany Valdespin and Marlon Byrd.
Boesch was hitting .188 with four strikeouts in 16 at-bats for the Tigers this spring.
Andy Martino of the Daily News reported that the Mets plan to at least discuss any available outfielder.
